Zucchini Bread

Wednesday November 11, 2009
I remember August 8th being "ditch a zucchini on your neighbor's porch and run like mad" day, but there is also a National Zucchini Bread Day in April. Zucchini is one plant that everyone should grow in their garden. You only need, and want, one plant for a family of 4, and you can make delicious breads, such as zucchini bread, all year round.

Thursday November 5, 2009
The Wheat Foods Council now has an educational, online program called How Wheat Works. This program teaches consumers about wheat, from the farm to the table. Consumers will learn about the 6 classes of wheat and they will have the option of planting a virtual hard wheat, soft wheat, or durum field. What's more, for each person that completes the program, the Wheat Foods Council will donate 2 pounds of flour to Operation Homefront. Not only will you get to learn more about wheat, you will be helping U.S. troops and their families during their time of need.
