If you're an avid baker, buying walnuts in bulk is a great way to save money. To keep the oil in the walnuts from going bad, store the walnuts in the refrigerator or in the freezer, taking out only what you need for each recipe. That's what I did for this recipe for maple walnut rolls. I keep the maple syrup stored in the refrigerator to prevent molding and the walnuts in the freezer to stop them from going bad.
