I've been trying out a wide variety of different types of rice simply because I enjoy rice so much and it is a nice change from pasta dinners. While working with wild rice, I learned that wild rice is not a true rice. It is a grass. Also, wild rice needs a longer cooking time than white rice, but the end flavor is worth the wait. I've added it to my breads, making a simple wild rice bread, and have had great results. I have even used true rices in this recipe with good results, making this a very versatile recipe to keep on hand.
