Ingredients:
- 3 large bananas
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
Preparation:
- Preheat oven 325 degrees F.
- Grease one loaf pan.
- In large bowl, mash bananas.
- Blend in sugar and shortening. Mix in eggs and nuts.
- In medium bowl, mix together dry ingredients: salt, baking soda, baking powder, and flour.
- Add dry ingredients into banana mixture and mix.
- Scrape batter into loaf pan and bake for about 1 hour or until inserted knife comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and let set in pan for about 10 minutes.
- Turn bread out and let cool.
