Chocolate Waffles

Make yourself and your loved ones waffles they’ll never forget. Chocolate waffles are the perfect breakfast for Valentine’s Day and they taste incredible when topped with ice cream, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream. This recipe for chocolate waffles makes 3-1/2 cups of batter.
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 6 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1-1/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
  • .
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup milk
  • .
  • 2 egg whites, beaten stiff
Preparation:
  1. Mix dry ingredients in large bowl. Set aside.

  2. In small bowl, mix together vanilla, eggs, butter, and milk. Set aside.

  3. Beat 2 egg whites in separate small bowl.

  4. Heat up waffle iron.

  5. Add milk mixture into dry ingredients and mix well.

  6. Fold in stiff egg whites.

  7. Bake in waffle iron according to your model’s instructions.

  8. Serve with butter and your favorite syrup or with your favorite ice cream.
