Oven Dried Bread

Elizabeth Yetter
Making your own homemade crumbs is inexpensive and thrifty. Not only do you save yourself money by not having to buy store crumbs, you also stop wasting good pieces of leftover bread. To dry leftover bread slices and ends for making crumbs, preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Next, lay out bread slices on a baking or cookie sheet. Place in oven.

Turn the bread slices every 10 to 15 minutes to prevent burning. When the bread slices are dry, remove from oven and set aside to cool.
