Its fun to experience different herbs and spices in homemade breads. For this recipe, ground anise seed is used to flavor a delicious, sweet quick bread. The bread is a summer favorite that you can make as one regular size loaf or two small loaves.

Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 5 tsp ground anise seed
- 4-1/2 baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups milk
Preparation:
- Preheat oven 350 degrees F.
- Grease 1 bread loaf pan or 2 small loaf pans.
- In large bowl, mix dry ingredients.
- In medium bowl, mix the butter, eggs, and milk.
- Stir wet ingredients into dry. Mix well.
- Scrape into bread pan(s).
- Bake for 30 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
- Let bread cool for 10 minutes and then turn out of pan.
