Canned Corn Cheddar Bread

If you are looking for a quick but unusual bread to go with your roast dinner or to accompany a spaghetti meal, keep reading. This soft, delicious bread is like a biscuit with whole kernel corn and cheddar cheese in it. When buttered, this savory bread reminds one of summer corn. Canned corn bread recipe makes 9 servings.

Prep Time: 05 minutes

Cook Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg, lightly beat
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup drained, canned whole kernel corn
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Preparation:

  1. Grease 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan.

  2. Preheat oven 400 degrees F.

  3. Put all ingredients in large bowl without mixing.

  4. Stir ingredients until flour is just moistened and batter is lumpy.

  5. Scrape batter into prepared pan.

  6. Bake for about 45 minutes or until done.
