Guide Review - BlinQ Flexible Bakeware - Passionate Pink
BlinQ's silicone loaf pan is not sturdy. Sized at 5" x 10", the pan does not hold its shape when used and the bread comes out of the oven with a distinct bulge in the center. The silicone is also thin, compared to other silicone bread pans. When filling the pan with batter, you need to first set the loaf pan on a baking tray for stability or risk the sides of the pan bulging and spilling the batter.
BlinQ's silicone loaf pan does have some pros. It is very easy to clean and is dishwasher safe. There aren't any ridges or markings inside the pan which make it easy to quickly wipe out the pan after using it. Because the pan is made of thin silicone, it is very easy to roll up and store in crowded cabinets. The silicone also holds its shape and it has returned to its original loaf pan shape after each abusive test in my crowded kitchen.
While the passionate pink color is cheerful, it doesn't make the loaf pan any more endearing. A bread pan is meant to hold the bread's shape as the batter or dough is baking. Since blinQ's silicone loaf pan doesn't hold the bread's shape, it has no place in my kitchen.
