- 1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
- 2-1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 Tbsp butter, soft
- 1/2 Tbsp vegetable shortening
- 1/2 cup milk
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Mix flour, baking, and salt in medium-size bowl. Work in butter and shortening with a fork. Slowly mix in milk until soft dough forms.
- Turn dough out onto floured board. Pat dough until about 1/2 inch thick. Cut 4 to 5 biscuits with biscuit butter. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
